If you’re using Instagram to market your direct sales business, you definitely want to get savvy using Instagram Stories. They’ll increase your visibility and grow your audience quickly and effectively simply because of the amount of people using them! As of 2019, 59% of Millenials and 70% of Gen Z users watch Instagram Stories out of 500 million daily users. That’s a heck of a LOT of eyeballs! Who doesn’t love giving their two cents online? Create a “This or That” with your products (just as you would do on a Facebook post) using Instagram’s fun built in features. Polls are really easy to whip up and you’ll be able to make several slides to have a fun “Battle of the Products” royale! Or get personal and ask a This or That question about laundry or kids or donations. Whatever you wish! No one can turn down a poll, seriously. They are engagement magnets!

What’s great about IG Stories is that they are short and sweet. And if you don’t save them into a Highlight reel then they disappear in 24 hours. So if you’re a bit camera shy, no worries! People will see your how to video and then you’ll never have to watch it yourself again! How To’s via Stories are a great way to share how a product works in real life (IRL) so your viewers can see them in action and think – I. MUST. HAVE. THAT.
People loooooooove reviews. Why? Because they are legit testimonials from real people who aren’t you trying to sell your products. Reviews aren’t seen as soliciting. They aren’t spammy. They are pure gold in our book! Creating a few slides of your customers either using photos they took with your products (be sure to tag them!), or screenshots of the actual FB review from your business page or creating graphics quoting them are all very Stories worthy options!
Launching a new and exciting product or line? Excellent! Share the news with a fun series of Instagram Stories! Countdowns are also great for the release of a new class you’re hosting on Facebook or a seasonal campaign, such as a Countdown to Christmas. So many different uses for this one!
Going back to #1 and the Polls – Instagram Stories have a bunch of really cool interactive features like Ask a Question, a “like” slider, chat, quiz and an actual countdown (seen above). Use them!
